So, this week we did a thing.
After church, we stopped at General RV in North Canton “just to look” at a used travel trailer that we saw listed on their website the night before. They were pretty busy, and I think that we probably could have gotten some quicker attention if we were looking at their new inventory. Well, after about 15 minutes of waiting for guidance, there was one helpful salesman that looked up the unit we had in question, only to tell us that it had been sold the day before. There was not a lot of used inventory, and most of what they had was turning over in three days or less (in fact, they seemed disappointed when they found out we had nothing to trade in).
He did take us around to a few other units that he had in stock, and after looking through about 5 units, we had made a decision to purchase the first one that he showed us (of course, he showed us the nicest one first). This unit was not listed on the website yet, it had just come in on trade at the end of Friday (it had been on their lot less than 48 hours). We made an offer, and while the paperwork was being drawn up we found out that there were two other families that had wanted to put an offer in on the trailer but we beat them to it.
It did wind up being a little more trailer than we had thought we’d be in the market for, but we are very happy with it. It is a 2016 Sunset Trail Ultralite by Crossroads RV. It is hard to tell that this is a used unit, the only “evidence” of a prior user are some knife marks on the cutting board. The mattresses are still in factory wrapping. It still smells new (unlike some of the other units that we looked at that day).
The trailer sleeps 10, officially. Unofficially, I think that 6 – 8 will be comfortable from time to time when we have guests, but there is plenty of room for 4 to spread out, even on rainy camping days.
We are pretty excited to get on the road with this, making new friends, new memories, and discovering new places!
