On account of all of the traveling we’ve been doing over the last few years, we have racked up quite a bit of rewards points for rental cars and hotels. We decided to make arrangements for the kids for the week, and redeemed all of those points on an anniversary trip this year.
This trip will include two nights in Flagstaff, three nights in Tucson, and two nights in Phoenix. From those spots, we’ll explore National Parks and other points of interest around the state.
I made the hotel reservations back in August, right after I purchased the tickets for the flights. We found a great deal on a direct flight from from Cleveland to Phoenix. I also used some reward points to rent a vehicle for the week. For the same price as an economy car rental, we had a Jeep rental waiting for us (we were both pretty excited about this!).
As with our Spring Break trip the other year, we made a meal plan for the week ahead of time. This saved a lot of money and time since we were not eating out very much at all. We ordered our groceries online and had them ready to pick up on our way through Cottonwood.
