Life gets in the way of the hunt!

Since our surge for 1,000 cache finds (turning February from a month with 0 finds to the month with the most finds on our profile statistics page), our ability to get out and rack up the numbers has diminished.  I’m busy with the book sales again, and now that Easter has passed, that should be letting up a little.  Those 70+ hour weeks have occupied most of the daylight hours for the last few months, and even if there is daylight left at the end of one of those days, I’m usually too exhausted to consider doing anything other than going to bed!

My handyman side business has been picking up, and that takes up those days that I am not busy with the books.  Unfortunately, we’re in a position where the paycheck is more important than the smiley on our geocaching map, so we’ve only been able to cherry-pick the new caches that have been published in the area, and no major cache outings have been planned.  On the two or three days that we would have actually had the time, and were rested up enough to consider a cache trip, the weather was not conducive for a family day outside!

So…. if the weather ever warms up and stops raining (especially for the weekends!), we may go after a couple of dozen at a time again.  The kids have been bugging us to go, I think they miss the hunt as much as we do!
